Rough Draft Critique

Things to Change:

  • Talked to Matt outside of class, he gave me a great idea of making my typography grow to emphasize the obesity idea, instead of just using bold typography
  • put % on the bars as they move in, instead of them growing out of ends of them?
  • make the guy get skinnier throughout the video
  • add blue headbands to the guy on the treadmill too
  • add call to action at end!
  • make white line follow through to make bottom of treadmill and make 78% come out of white line also
  • use frame mobility to go to mirror guy- zoom out, then back in

Obesity Stats

80% of obese children become obese adults. 58 million people in the US are overweight, 40 million are obese, and 3 million are morbidly obese, while 78% aren't meeting basic activity levels. Obesity is a contributing factor in 5 of the top 10 causes of death: heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease. It's time to take action and lower obesity in America! Start eating healthy and get active!

I Want My MTV

Progress of each Scene

Final first scene. I've made a ton of changes since the beginning with this room. I've added a "Jack Ass" theme poster to connect it more with MTV. I also shrunk the size of the TV because originally there was too much edge tension. I also shrunk the size of the antennas. I changed my font and also illustrated a little mouse hole and mouse that animates, and runs across the screen. I just added a static sound when the tv comes on and has a static screen. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the sound though because I don't know what other sounds to put in it and I'm worried just one sound effect will be more bothersome than actually helping the piece.

The bar scene has changed a lot also. I originally started with just a black room, decided to add bottles, a shelf, wood like texture to the bar, a shot glass, and a pint glass. I also added spilt beer under the tv and made the shot glass slide in from the side. I attempted to make the pint glass empty but couldn't make it look believable. It was too glitchy. I added audio of a loud pub.

For the concert scene I changed the overall color from yellow to gray. I added the concert lights shining down and I also animated the crowd to move. The last addition I made was to add a silhouette of a girl walking in front of the tv to give the tv more interaction with the scene instead of just sitting on top of everything. I added audio of a crowd cheering.

For the beach scene I gave the sand a texture from the original and, also covered two of the legs with the sand and added a bucket for an extra pop of color and detail. I illustrated a shark fin and animated the shark fin swimming around and I animated the cloud also to sail across the top of the screen. I added audio of the waves crashing.
